Hi there! I’m an MHCI student at Carnegie Mellon University, looking for a UX/UI position when I graduate in August (2013). Check out my portfolio and resume, and feel free to email me!
I grew up in Pittsburgh, home of the Steelers and french fries on everything. I had just enough wanderlust to send me away to New York for my undergrad degree (despite the hilarious price tag), and just enough homesickness to send me back to the ‘Burgh for grad school at Carnegie Mellon.
I spend my free time reading, watching movies, listening to music, and playing video games. When I was a kid, I used to get in trouble in class for secretly reading books under my desk. I intermittently take up knitting and learning German (check me out on Duolingo!). I have a cat named Zelda who is sweet yet vengeful, with an insatiable appetite for pepperoni.
Academically, I’m a black hole. That is, I suck up information (and smaller planets) from anywhere and everywhere. I love to learn, and I love trying out new things, and I’m pretty good at both of those. My two biggest learning goals are to pick up an Asian language (probably Korean, as it has a manageable alphabet) and to actually master a programming language, as opposed to just being proficient at one.
Professionally, novel interactions are quite interesting to me. How can we expand the way people interact with their computers/devices in a meaningful manner? I’m also very passionate about creating intuitive experiences for users who are not proficient with desktop/mobile technology (I’m invested in this mainly because I’d like to stop having to help my mom perform basic computer tasks, like sending an email).
If you’re interested in getting to know me better, or if you’d like to discuss an opportunity with me, my email address is kristina.lustig@gmail.com.
